Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to compositions which induce in humans regeneration of the corneal endothelium. The compositions of the invention are of value in regenerating the corneal endothelium in humans, which is frequently damaged in the course of eye surgery and injuries. Such regeneration is very important to ensure the full functionality of the eye. The compositions of the invention comprise as active ingredient an adequate quantity of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) in a suitable physiologically acceptable vehicle. A preferred embodiment of the invention relates to a composition containing a certain quantity of hyaluronic acid and any other viscoelastic agent.
