Abstract
Abstract Porous pipe formed of particles of vulcanized rubber dispersed in a binder resin such as linear low density polyethylene preferably having a Melt Index below 1.0 and a broad distribution of molecular weights, is stabilized to reduce degradation by ultraviolet light by dispersing in the binder resin an effective amount of an ultraviolet stabilizer such as 0.1 to 10% by weight of carbon black.

Porous pipe comprising a hollow pipe having a pipe wall containing pores, said pipe wall being formed of a thermoplastic, linear, low density polyethylene binder resin having Melt Index below 1 and a Melt Flow Ratio above about 50, said resin containing a dispersion of about 60% to about 80% by weight of vulcanized, elastomeric particles and said binder resin containing a dispersion of about 0.1% to about 10% by weight of an ultraviolet stabilizer in an amount effective to substantially reduce degradation of the resin due to ultraviolet radiation.
