Abstract
Abstract A print processing method used in a photographic printer which can print images on a negative film which have different aspect ratios. The print processing method comprises the steps of judging the aspect ratio of each of the images printed on photographic paper, and printing cumulative numbers of prints of each aspect ratio onto the photographic paper of a final printing. The number of prints per aspect ratio can be easily known, and the cost of the prints can be calculated more efficiently.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
159 words
A print processing apparatus for printing a plurality of images having different aspect ratios recorded on a negative film, comprising: means for detecting and judging which automatically detects a width of an image plane which is perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the negative film and judges the aspect ratio of an image, means for changing masking which performs masking, corresponding to a judged aspect ratio, of an image frame of said image, means for changing projection magnification which applies projection magnification, corresponding to the judged aspect ratio, to said image, variable masking means for performing masking, corresponding to the judged aspect ratio, of a photographic paper, means for transporting the photographic paper for a distance which corresponds to the judged aspect ratio, and for positioning the photographic paper, and means for printing said image recorded on the negative film onto the photographic paper and for cutting the photographic paper to the size corresponding to the judged aspect ratio.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
51 words
A print processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said detecting and judging means includes a light emitting portion which irradiates light to a transported negative film and a light receiving portion which receives light transmitted through the negative film and detects an intensity of light transmitted through the negative film.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
33 words
A print processing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said light receiving portion detects an edge of an image frame by detecting the intensity of light which is transmitted through said negative film.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
25 words
A print processing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said detecting and judging means detects the intensity of light at a plurality of detection points.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
25 words
A print processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising means for transporting the negative film and setting the negative film at a printing position.
