Abstract
Abstract An apparatus for detecting a volatility of fuel supplied to an internal combustion. A target mean effective pressure is calculated based on sensed engine operating conditions. An actual mean effective pressure is calculated based on a sensed cylinder pressure. The fuel volatility is calculated as a function of the calculated target mean effective pressure and the calculated actual mean effective pressure.
