Abstract
Abstract A method of manufacturing a recording head for use in an ink jet printer involves the steps of, after treating a surface of a discharge port formation member having plural discharge ports formed thereon, which formation member is formed with a material having a water-repellent property, forming the discharge ports by applying radiation from a pulsed laser beam, and then performing heat treatment for eliminating byproducts from the orifice forming sticking to and deposited in peripheries of the discharge ports, or if an orifice plate, byproducts sticking to peripheries of the discharge ports.
