Abstract
Abstract An image processor, for example a digital color copier, receives an image signal transmitted in one of a plurality of different modes to process an image of one picture. An analyzer determines the processing mode of the received image signal. A first processor is selected for sequentially processing the image signal for one picture a line at a time in accordance with the analyzer determining one processing mode was received. A second processor is selected and receives the whole image signal for one picture for processing as a block in accordance with the analyzer determining a different mode was received. A processed image is output from the processor selected by the analyzer.
