Abstract

Abstract A low-friction bearing material includes a matrix formed by a wire mesh screen which is fused to a metal backing sheet. Polytetrafluoroethylene or other polymeric resin fills the interstices within the screen and between the screen and the backing sheet and locks itself rigidly to the screen and the backing sheet in order to impart high strength to the bearing material.
