Abstract A thermal transfer dye providing material comprising a support having thereon at least one dye providing layer containing a dye which migrates to a thermal transfer image receiving material when heated, wherein said dye providing layer comprises an oil-soluble thermoplastic resin containing the dye dispersed in a water-soluble binder.
