Abstract
Abstract An information reproducing apparatus reproduces information from an information storage medium such as a CD-ROM which has a storage area divided into a plurality of sections, for storing digital audio information and digital image information which includes a plurality of image change control information and picture information. The information reproducing apparatus has a controller for selecting one of the image change control information to control the picture information during a transition period thereof.

In an apparatus for reproducing information from an information storage medium having a storage area divided into a plurality of sections, for storing digital audio information and digital image information including a plurality of image change information and picture information, comprising: information reading means for reading information from said information storage medium; information demodulating means for demodulating the information read by said information reading means and outputting as demodulated information at least said image change control information and said picture information; transition period detecting means for detecting a starting portion and an ending portion of said demodulated picture information; and control means for selecting said image change control information to control said picture information output by said information demodulating means, so as to permit control of said picture information during the transition period of said picture information.
