Use of water-soluble or water-dispersible grafted proteins as detergent additives

Claim 1

A phosphate-free or low-phosphate detergent comprising: a) a surfactant; and b) 0.1-20% by weight based on the formulation, of a water-soluble or water-dispersible grafted protein obtained by free radical copolymerization of (A) monoethylenically unsaturated monomers selected from the group consisting of esters of a monoethylenically unsaturated C 3-8 carboxylic acids with monohydric or polyhydric C 1-22 alcohols, esters of a monoethylenically unsaturated C 3-8 carboxylic acids with the addition products of 1-50 mol of alkylene oxide with 1 mol of a C 1-22 alcohol, amides of C 3-8 carboxylic acids which are derived from ammonia, C 1-22 alkylamines or C 1-22 dialkylamines, nitriles of carboxylic acids, vinyl ethers of C 1-8 alcohols, vinyl esters of saturated C 1-22 carboxylic acids, N-vinylamides, vinylpyridines, acrylamidopropanesulfonic acid, acrylamidoethanesulfonic acid, N,N-dialkylamino-C 2-4 -alkyl(meth)acrylamides, styrene, alkylstyrene and a mixture thereof; (B) a protein in a weight ratio of (A):(B) of (0.5-90):(99.5-10).
