Claim 1
Independent Claim
47 words
A process for the production of a diaryl carbonate and hydrogen halide comprising contacting an aromatic hydroxy compound with a carbonyl halide in the presence of an aluminum catalyst under liquid phase reaction conditions at a reaction temperature of greater than 100° and less than 150° C.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
47 words
A process for the production of a diaryl carbonate and hydrogen halide comprising contacting an aromatic hydroxy compound with a carbonyl halide in the presence of an aluminum catalyst under liquid phase reaction conditions at a reaction temperature of greater than 100° and less than 150° C.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
17 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the reaction temperature is from 110° C. to about 145° C.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
18 words
The process of claim 2 wherein the reaction temperature is from about 125° C. to about 135° C.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
