Abstract
Abstract The present invention is an article carrier for an automobile including two slats fixedly secured on a generally horizontal extending exterior automobile body surface. The slats extend generally longitudinally of the automobile. A pair of bracket members are disposed on the slats and a crossbar extends laterally between and secured adjacent its opposite ends to the bracket members. At least one of the bracket members includes means to cooperate with the a portion on the outer surface of the side rails for detachably securing and allowing longitudinal adjustment of the crossbar upon the slats.
