Abstract
Abstract An image forming apparatus for producing a visible image on an image forming medium includes a photosensitive drum for carrying a latent image thereon, a developer for developing the latent image to form a developed image on the photosensitive drum, and a transferring drum for supporting the image forming medium and transferring the developed image onto the image forming medium. The image forming apparatus further includes a stepping motor, which has a plurality of exciting windings, for rotating the photosenstive drum, a driver for driving the stepping motor, and a controller for controlling the driver such that the plurality of exciting windings are switched to be excited in a prescribed manner, the controller periodically varying the switching time intervals for exciting the windings in correspondence to variations in the rotational speed of the stepping motor.
