Total Claims: 19
Claim 1
Independent Claim 99 words
A process for the separation of components of a gaseous or liquid mixture having at least two components which comprises contacting a feedstream of the mixture with an upstream face of a non-composited, microporous membrane comprising a continuous array of crystalline molecular sieve material under separation conditions such that at least one component of the mixture has a greater steady state permeability through the membrane than at least one of the remaining components of the mixture, and recovering the component having the greater permeability on the downstream side of the membrane after contact with and passage through the membrane.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 99 words
A process for the separation of components of a gaseous or liquid mixture having at least two components which comprises contacting a feedstream of the mixture with an upstream face of a non-composited, microporous membrane comprising a continuous array of crystalline molecular sieve material under separation conditions such that at least one component of the mixture has a greater steady state permeability through the membrane than at least one of the remaining components of the mixture, and recovering the component having the greater permeability on the downstream side of the membrane after contact with and passage through the membrane.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 23 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the chemical properties of the membrane have been adjusted so that the membrane has low catalytic activity.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
The process of claim 1 wherein the membrane has been treated by incorporating alkali or alkaline earth metal into the membrane.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 25 words
The process of claim 3 wherein the metal is selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Na, K, Li, Rb and Cs.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 40 words
