Abstract
Abstract The present invention relates to a process of stabilizing micellular particles such as vesicles and increasing the shelf life by suspending the particles in a polymeric gel matrix. The invention also relates to such particles suspended in the gel matrix with a protective gel surface thereabout which is capable of becoming fluid and converting the protective surface of an aqueous suspension.

Claim 1
Independent Claim
76 words
A method for the storage and use of small micellular particles, comprising the steps of: suspending said micellular particles in a pharmaceutically acceptable polymeric gel solution to form a suspension with a protective gel surface about said micellular particles; cooling the suspension to form a gel matrix which restricts movement of the particles; and warming the gel matrix to at least about room temperature, thereby transforming the gel matrix into an aqueous suspension suitable for use.
