Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 76 words
A method for reducing the peripheral neuropathy associated with chemotherapy with hexamethylmelamine comprising intravenously administering a stabilized solution of an effective antineoplastic amount of hexamethyl-melamine (HMM) to a cancer patient in need thereof; wherein said HMM is dissolved in an aqueous emulsion comprising about 2-20% of an edible oil; about 0.1-7% of a phosphatide and about 1-10% glycerol, so that peripheral neuropathy is reduced from that observed when the same amount of HMM is orally administered.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 15 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the pH of the HMM solution is about 4.5-6.0.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 15 words
The method of claim 1 wherein about 500-600 mg/m 2 /day of HMM is administered.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 24 words
The method of claim 3 wherein the HMM is administered in conjunction with an effective amount of cisplatin, cyclosphosphamide, doxorubicin, vinca alkaloids or etoposide.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 12 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the edible oil comprises soybean oil.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 12 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the phosphatide comprises egg yolk phospholipids.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 14 words
The method of claim 1 wherein the HMM solution comprises about 1-6 mg/ml HMM.
