Abstract Zwitterion polymers are provided herein having the formula: ##STR1## where R is OR', where R' is C 1 -C 8 alkyl or a lactam, X is oxygen or nitrogen, n is 2-10, and R 1 and R 2 are each independently C 1 -C 8 alkyl, and mixtures thereof.
