Abstract

Abstract A data rewriting apparatus for a photographic camera, which comprises a film speed reading unit for automatically reading the film speed recorded on a container of a film in use; a first memory including RAM for the storage of the film speed; a second memory including E 2 PROM for the storage of the film speed; a rewriting unit for rewriting a value stored in the first memory to a value stored in the second memory; a comparator for comparing the value stored in the second memory with that stored in the first memory; and a rewrite control unit for inhibiting the rewriting of the second rewriting unit when the comparator indicates that the value stored in the second memory is identical with that stored in the first memory.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim 185 words
A data rewriting apparatus for a photographic camera, which comprises: a reading means for reading the film speed recorded on a container of a film in use; a first storage means including a random access memory for the storage of the film speed read by said reading means; a second storage means including an electrically erasable and programmable read only memory for the storage of the film speed; a rewriting means for rewriting a value stored in the second storage means to a value stored in the first storage means; a comparing means for comparing the value stored in the second storage means with that stored in the first storage means; and a rewrite control means operable to inhibit a rewriting operation of the rewriting means when the comparing means indicates that the value stored in the second storage means is identical with that stored in the first storage means, but to permit the rewriting operation of the rewriting means when the comparing means indicates that the value stored in the second storage means is not identical with that stored in the first storage means.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 185 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 52 words
The apparatus as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a back-cover closure detecting means for detecting the closure of a back cover of the camera and for generating a detection signal when the back cover is closed, and wherein the reading means reads the film speed in response to the detection signal.
