Abstract
Abstract A method and apparatus for detecting concealment of hidden information in interrogative polygraphy is described which employs Event Related Brain Potentials (ERP). Various stimuli are presented to a subject and the P300 components of the subject's ERP's are monitored and analyzed. Three types of stimuli are presented, Probe which are relevant to the "crime", Irrelevant-having no bearing on the crime, and Target which require the subject to perform an act. If, and only if, the subject has guilty knowledge, the Probe stimuli, like the Target stimuli, elicit a large ERP and provide a guilty indication.
