Abstract
Abstract A two-stroke engine has a scavenge pump provided in an intake passage. A continuously variable transmission is operatively connected between the scavenge pump and a crankshaft of the engine for operating the scavenge pump. An actuator is provided for changing the transmission ratio of the transmission. The actuator is operated by a controller so as to control the speed of the transmission ratio in accordance with load on the engine.
