Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 102 words
A thermal transfer printing receiver sheet for use in association with a compatible donor sheet, the receiver sheet comprising a supporting substrate having, on at least one surface thereof, a dye-receptive receiving layer to receive a dye thermally transferred from the donor sheet, wherein (a) the substrate comprises an opaque, molecularly oriented film of a synthetic linear polyester, and (b) the at least one receiving layer has a thickness not exceeding 7.5 μm, and comprises a dye-receptive, essentially amorphous, synthetic polyester resin containing one or more glycols selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, triethylene glycol and neopentyl glycol.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 102 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 22 words
A receiver sheet according to claim 1 wherein the substrate is voided, thus containing at least a proportion of discrete closed cells.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 32 words
A receiver sheet according to claim 2 wherein the substrate contains an effective amount of a voiding agent selected from the group comprising an incompatible resin filler and a particulate inorganic filler.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 37 words
A receiver sheet according to claim 3 wherein the average particle size of the inorganic filler is from 0.1 to 10.0 μm, the actual particle size of 99.9% by number of the particles not exceeding 30 μm.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 14 words
A receiver sheet according to claim 3 wherein the inorganic filler comprises barium sulphate.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 20 words
A receiver sheet according to claim 1 wherein the thickness of the receiving layer is from 0.5 to 5.0 μm.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 14 words
A receiver sheet according to claim 1 wherein the dye-receptive polymer comprises a copolyester.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 20 words
A receiver sheet according to claim 7 wherein the dye-receptive polymer comprises a copolymer of ethylene terephthalate and ethylene isophthalate.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 18 words
A receiver sheet according to claim 1 comprising a receiving layer additionally being provided with a release medium.
