Abstract

Abstract A system and method for teaching a student physical skills. The system includes a processing means for producing and displaying a model of the student. The processing means includes a computing means for generating the model. The model having the exact physical dimensions of the student and superiorly performs the skill. A video imaging means captures the movement of the student attempting to perform the skill and generates a video signal for effecting input into the processing means. The processing means coordinates the movement of the model with the movement of the student and generates a pixel image representation of the model overlayed on the student. The model is generated from a plurality of elite performers capable of superior performance. The model is enhanced with superior chacteristics of performing the skill, but constrained to human capabilities.

The method of claim 5, further including the step of coordinating the first and second video pictures representing the movements of various parts of the model's body and the person's body simultaneously at the same video display rate.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 11 words
The method of claim 6, wherein the physical skill comprises running.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 57 words
The method of claim 6, wherein the physical skill includes a manipulation of equipment and wherein said method further includes the step of coordinating a representation of the manipulation of the equipment by the model in the second video image with a representation of the manipulation of the equipment by the person in the first video image.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 36 words
The method of claim 8, further including the step of superimposing the second video image of the equipment manipulation of the model to coincide with the first video image of the equipment manipulation by the person.
Claim 11
