Abstract
Abstract An electromagnetic shielding and environmental sealing device includes an elastomer strip that is attached to a metal strip. The metal strip includes a base member and a plurality of fingers that extend from one edge of the base member at an angle. The elastomer strip includes a base portion, an extension portion that is attached to one edge of the base portion and extends at an angle with respect to the base portion and a sealing portion that is attached to the opposite edge of the base portion. The base member of the metal strip has a plurality of cut-out areas positioned therein that define contact tabs. The contact tabs are capable of deflecting out of the plane defined by immediately adjoining areas of the base member when a force is applied to the device. In that way, proper electrical contact is maintained with respect to the device and the surface to which it is attached.
