Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 45 words
In a process comprising a grinding step for grinding a friable particulate, solid material to form ground particles, the improvement wherein water absorbent polymeric material that remains non-sticky throughout the process is included in said grinding step to substantially prevent the ground particles from caking.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 45 words
In a process comprising a grinding step for grinding a friable particulate, solid material to form ground particles, the improvement wherein water absorbent polymeric material that remains non-sticky throughout the process is included in said grinding step to substantially prevent the ground particles from caking.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 18 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein said friable solid material has a free water content below 30%.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein said friable solid material has a free water content of 10 to 25%.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 32 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein at least 90% by weight of said particulate water absorbent polymeric material is in the form of particles having a dry size below 50 μm.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 37 words
A process according to claim 4 wherein said polymeric material is added to the mill or to the friable solid material while in the form of a dispersion of particulate polymeric material in a water immiscible liquid.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 26 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein the polymeric material is a cross linked polymer formed from a water soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer or monomer blend.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 36 words
A process according to claim 6 in which said cross linked polymer is formed from 5 to 100 mole percent acrylic acid as free acid or water soluble salt and 0 to 95 mole percent acrylamide.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 13 words
A process according to claim 1 wherein said grinding step comprises ball milling.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 26 words
A process according to claim 4 wherein the polymeric material is a cross linked polymer formed from a water soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer or monomer blend.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 36 words
A process according to claim 9 in which said cross linked polymer is formed from 5 to 100 mole percent acrylic acid as free acid or water soluble salt and 0 to 95 mole percent acrylamide.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 18 words
A process according to claim 4 wherein said friable solid material has a free water content below 30%.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 20 words
A process according to claim 4 wherein said friable solid material has a free water content of 10 to 25%.
