Abstract
Abstract The disclosed compositions for periodontal use are characterized by inclusion of superoxide dismutase, as an active ingredient, in combination with an orally acceptable carrier. Periodontal diseases, in particular alveolar pyorrhea, may be treated and/or prevented by application of superoxide dismutase to oral cavity tissue.
