Abstract

Abstract An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising an electrically conductive support having provided thereon a photosensitive layer composed of a charge generating layer and a charge transport layer, wherein said charge generating layer contains a bisazo compound represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein X, Y, and A are defined in the specification, and said charge transport layer contains a benzidine compound represented by formula (II) ##STR2## wherein R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 are as defined in the specification. The photoreceptor exhibits high photoresponse performance even in a weak electric field and exhibits high sensitivity in a visible light region.
