Abstract
Abstract There is disclosed an image reader capable of detecting a state unsuitable for image reading. The image reader is capable of generating information for compensating for the unevenness of the output of image sensor, and image signals obtained by reading a reference plate with the image sensor are corrected based on this information and are used for identifying an abnormal state of image reading.
