Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 11
Claim 1
Independent Claim 79 words
A polymeric electrolyte material for use as an electrolyte in an electrochemical cell, comprising a blend of (a) an ionizable salt, (b) an extrudable organic polymer cpable of permitting sufficient transfer of dissociated ions of the salt so that the blend can function as an electrolyte in an electrochemical cell in the substantial absence of any liquid, and (c) a plasticizing agent which inhibits change in the morphology of the polymer from an amorphous phase to a crystalline phase.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 79 words
A polymeric electrolyte material for use as an electrolyte in an electrochemical cell, comprising a blend of (a) an ionizable salt, (b) an extrudable organic polymer cpable of permitting sufficient transfer of dissociated ions of the salt so that the blend can function as an electrolyte in an electrochemical cell in the substantial absence of any liquid, and (c) a plasticizing agent which inhibits change in the morphology of the polymer from an amorphous phase to a crystalline phase.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 20 words
A polymeric electrolyte material according to claim 1, wherein the plasticizing agent has a dielectric constrant of at least 15.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 20 words
A polymeric electrolyte material according to claim 1, wherein the plasticizing agent has a dielectric constant of at least 30.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 22 words
A polymeric electrolyte material according to claim 1, wherein the blend comprises between 5 and 60% by weight of the plasticizing agent.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 22 words
A polymeric electrolyte material according to claim 1, wherein the blend comprises between 25 and 40% by weight of the plasticizing agent.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 32 words
A polymeric electrolyte material according to claim 1, wherein the plasticizing agent is selected from the group consisting of propylene carbonate, ethylene carbonate, tetramethylene sulfone, gamma-butyrolactone, dimethylformamide, dioctyl phthalate, and dibutyl phthalate.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 26 words
A polymeric electrolyte material according to claim 1, wherein the plasticizing agent is selected from the group consisting of propylene carbonate, ethylene carbonate, and tetramethylene sulfone.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 15 words
A polymeric electrolyte material according to claim 1, wherein the ionizable salt is lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 93 words
A polymeric electrolyte material according to claim 1, wherein the polymer has the repeat unit ##STR4## wherein R is hydrogen or a group R a , -CH 2 OR a , -CH 2 OR e R a or -CH 2 N(CH 3 ) 2 and R" is R a or R e R a , R a being a C 1 to C 16 alkyl or cycloalkyl group and R e being an ether group of the formula -(CH 2 CH 2 O) p -where p is a number from 1 to 100.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 14 words
