Abstract

Abstract A silver halide emulsion comprises a dispersion medium and silver halide grains, the silver halide emulsion containing tabular silver halide grains having a thickness of less than 0.5 μm, a diameter of 0.3 μm or more, and a mean diameter-to-thickness ratio of 2 or more. The tabular grains occupy at least 50% of a projected area of all the silver halide grains, and 50% or more (number) of the tabular grains include 10 or more dislocations per grain. A photographic light-sensitive material comprises the aforementioned silver halide emulsion.

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 79 words
A silver halide emulsion comprising a dispersion medium and silver halide grains, the silver halide emulsion containing tabular silver halide grains having a thickness of 0.5 μm or less, a diameter of 0.3 μm or more, and a mean diameter-to-thickness ratio of 2 or more, wherein said tabular grains occupy at least 50% of a projected area of all the silver halide grains, and 50% (number) or more of said tabular grains include 10 or more dislocations per grain.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 79 words
A silver halide emulsion comprising a dispersion medium and silver halide grains, the silver halide emulsion containing tabular silver halide grains having a thickness of 0.5 μm or less, a diameter of 0.3 μm or more, and a mean diameter-to-thickness ratio of 2 or more, wherein said tabular grains occupy at least 50% of a projected area of all the silver halide grains, and 50% (number) or more of said tabular grains include 10 or more dislocations per grain.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 31 words
The emulsion as in claim 1, wherein the tabular grain has an inner region portion having a higher silver iodide content than that of a surface region of the tabular grain.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 102 words
A photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the silver halide emulsion layer contains a silver halide emulsion comprising a dispersion medium and silver halide grains, the silver halide emulsion containing tabular silver halide grains having a thickness of 0.5 μm or less, a diameter of 0.3 μm or more, and a mean diameter-to-thickness ratio of 2 or more, wherein said tabular grains occupy at least 50% of a projected area of all the silver halide grains, and 50% (number) or more of said tabular grains include 10 or more dislocations per grain.
Claim 5
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 31 words
The material as in claim 3, wherein the tabular grain has an inner region portion having a higher silver iodide content than that of a surface region of the tabular grain.
