Abstract
Abstract A photohardenable composition comprising a free radical addition polyermizable or crosslinkable compound and a cationic dye-borate anion complex, said complex being capable of absorbing actinic radiation and producing free radicals which initiate free radical polymerization of crosslinking of said compound; and photosensitive materials employing the composition where in one embodiment the composition is microencapsulated.

A photosensitive material comprising a support having a layer of microcapsules on one surface thereof, at least a portion of said microcapsules having an imageforming agent associated therewith and containing an internal phase including a photohardenable composition, said composition comprising a free radical addition polymerizable or crosslinkable compound and a cationic dye-borate anion complex, said complex being capable of absorbing actinic radiation and producing free radicals which initiate free radical polymerization or crosslinking of said compound.
