Abstract
Abstract A tamper evident closure with a snap-type hinge cap comprising a first part adapted to interengage with the open neck of a container and a second part forming a cap connected to the first part by an integral hinge. A first tamper indicating device is provided between the first part and the neck of the container. The first part includes a dispensing spout that is adapted to be closed by a portion of the second part. A second tamper evident strip in the form of a locking ring is connected by an integral hinge to one of the two parts and is adapted to be interposed between the two parts when the closure is closed with a portion extending beyond the periphery of the closure providing evidence that the closure has not been tampered with. In order to open the closure, the tamper evident strip must be torn away so that the second part can be opened. Tampering of the integral hinge of the two parts also provides an indication of tampering.
