Abstract
Abstract A method and apparatus for artificially bleaching or lightening hair by exposing the hair to intense radiation of artificial light. The light is typically from a laser or flashlamp source and provides adequate intensity and power during the lifetime of the excited melanin molecule in the hair to substantially destroy at least some of the melanin molecules in the hair.
