Abstract The present invention describes novel solvent cements which are a combination of a solvent which is a 5- or 6-membered ring lactam and a cosolvent which is one or more lower alkanols and/or one or more lower alkyl esters of lower alkanoic acids and, optionally, includes a water-insoluble polymer such as PVC or ABS.
