Abstract
Abstract A communication system offering specific services to specific persons bears a portable memory device with a record of personal information such as the bearer's identification number, class of service, personal data, etc. In making a call, the bearer of the memory device puts it on a communication terminal device and the terminal device reads out the personal information, which is transferred to a data processor such as a central processor in the exchange so that a service specific to the calling person is rendered.

A personal-servicing communication system comprising a portable memory device having personal information including an identification of the bearer of the portable memory device recorded thereon, a plurality of communication terminal devices each including means for reading out the personal information recorded on said memory device and nor transferring it to an exchange facility, said exchange facility including means for storing service information indicating a service assigned to the terminal devices to be employed as an alternative to a service identified by said personal information, and means for providing a personal communication service under control of a central controller in response to received personal information, including the bearer identification read by said terminal device, or a service indicated by the stored service information in case no personal informataion is received.
