Abstract

Abstract A stepping motor which includes a rotor and a stator having a plurality of poleshoes extending inwardly in closely spaced relation to the rotor, each of the poleshoes being disposed in one of a plurality of groups of poleshoes. Each poleshoe in each of the groups is uniformly angularly spaced from each other adjacent poleshoe in the same group, and each group is angularly spaced from each adjacent group by an angle which is different from the angle between adjacent poleshoes in the same group.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 110 words
A two-phase stepping motor, comprising: (a) a rotor having a plurality of uniformly spaced teeth; and (b) a stator having a plurality of poleshoes extending inwardly in closely spaced relation to said rotor, each of said poleshoes being disposed in one of a plurality of groups of poleshoes, each poleshoe in each of said groups being uniformly angularly spaced from each other adjacent poleshoe in the same group by an angle which is other than an integer multiple of the spacing between said rotor teeth, each group being angularly spaced from each adjacent group by an angle which is different from the angle between adjacent poleshoes in the same group.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 110 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 1, wherein each of said groups has four poleshoes.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 16 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 1, wherein each poleshoe has two teeth thereon.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 39 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 1, wherein the motor has a step angle of 0.9 times K degrees, where K is a constant, and wherein the number of groups is equal to ten divided by K.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 23 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 4, wherein the angle between corresponding points on successive groups is 36 times K degrees.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 24 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 1, wherein the angle between adjacent poleshoes in the same group is 8.1 times K degrees.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 19 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 4, wherein each poleshoe is substantially identical to each other poleshoe.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 14 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 4, wherein K is an integer.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 13 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 8, wherein K is one.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 13 words
A two-phase stepping motor, as defined in claim 8, wherein K is two.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 33 words
A stepping motor as described in claim 1, wherein one of said poleshoes in each of said groups is used for the sensing of the E.M.F. generated by the rotation of said rotor.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim 33 words
A stepping motor as described in claim 1, wherein all of said poleshoes in one of said groups are used for the sensing of the E.M.F. generated by the rotation of said rotor.
