Abstract
Abstract An ovenable food tray formed from paperboard, the food-containing surface of which is coated with a food grade resin. The other surface of the paperboard is adhered to a paper coated with an essentially nonburning coating. This paperboard-adhesive-paper laminate yields improved flame resistance, particularly in electric ovens where the food tray may be accidentally placed very near an oven heating element.
