Abstract
Abstract A photographic element comprising a silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a compound having the formula ##STR1## wherein Y is --O--, --S--, --NH-- or --NR 1 --; n is 0 or 1; each R 1 independently is the residue of a phosphorus acid; each Z independently represents the atoms necessary to complete a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring; and, X is a single bond or a linking group having a single atom which separates the two benzene rings. Use of the compound provides increased stability of the dye image obtained during photographic processing.
