Abstract
Abstract A method and apparatus are provided for applying a profile with adjacent ribs to a traveling film web to form an adjacent rib-type zipper. The device includes a first extruder for extruding a base member, and a mechanism for joining the base member to a bag film web. A second extruder is provided for extruding a male profile member, a first rib member and a second rib member as three separate extrudates. The extruder is configured for joining the profile member, first rib member and second rib member to the bag film in an aligned relation such that the profile member is disposed between the first and second rib members.
