Abstract
Abstract Methods and compositions are provided for simultaneous reduction of NO x and SO x in combustion effluents and process gas streams, employing a sorbent material of calcium or dolomitic lime hydrated with aqueous carboxamides, optionally with carbinol reductants, in amounts sufficient to reduce the NO x and SO x concentrations from the effluents. The sorbent material may be introduced as dry powders or wet hydrates in effluent streams at temperatures ranging from 400° to 2400° F.
