Abstract

Abstract A manifold gasket for an internal combustion engine to be situated between a manifold and a cylinder head comprises a first outer plate abutting against the manifold, a second outer plate abutting against the cylinder head, and at least two inner plates situated between the first and second outer plates. Each inner plate is provided with a bead to surround an exhaust hole for an exhaust fluid passage of the engine. The bead extends substantially perpendicularly to the horizontal plane of the inner plate and includes a top portion. The first and second outer plates and inner plates are arranged and connected together so that the first and second outer plates slide relative to the inner plates respectively and the beads of the two inner plates absorb pressure applied perpendicular to the inner plates and seal between the manifold and the cylinder head.
