Abstract

Abstract In an image information read apparatus, shading distortion data of a light source are stored in a plurality of memory means, and the shading distortion data is read out of one of the memory means depending on a position of an original document. Content, of one of the plurality of memory means is retained even after the turn-off of a power supply. By this arrangement, a proper shading distortion correction is always attained at any position of the inserted original document even when the original document is partially scanned from an intermediate point, a proper initial value for shading distortion correction can be inputted so that a proper shading correction is attained to improve a quality of image.
