Abstract

Abstract Two Hall sensor devices are positioned at a predetermined angular position with respect to each other, and with respect to a distributor, by mounting a first Hall sensor in a primary carrier, forming a first alignment means at a firing point of the first Hall sensor, mounting a second Hall sensor in a secondary carrier, and forming a second alignment means in the secondary carrier at the firing point of the second Hall sensor. A third alignment means is formed in the primary carrier at the predetermined angle from the first alignment means and the secondary carrier is mounted to the primary carrier so that the second and third alignment means are aligned and the two Hall sensors provide output signals displaced by the predetermined angular rotation.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 153 words
A mount for two Hall sensors for mounting on a distributor at a predetermined desired rotational position, said mount including: a primary carrier for supporting a first Hall sensor and having a first alignment means for rotationally positioning the first Hall sensor with respect to a distributor and establishing the firing point of the first Hall sensor; a secondary carrier for supporting a second Hall sensor, said secondary carrier including a second alignment means for indicating the firing point of the second Hall sensor; said primary carrier including a third alignment means for establishing the rotational position of the secondary carrier, and thus, in turn, the second Hall sensor with respect to the primary carrier; said second and third alignment means being coupled to another so as to mount said secondary carrier to said primary carrier and fix the relative rotational positions between the firing points of said first and second Hall sensors
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 153 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 34 words
A mount for two Hall sensors as recited in claim 1 wherein: said first alignment means is a first notch in said primary carrier for mating with a locating tab extending from the distributor
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 24 words
A mount for two Hall sensors as recited in claim 2 wherein: said second alignment means is a second notch in said secondary carrier.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 30 words
A mount for two Hall sensors as recited in claim 3 wherein: said third alignment means is a tab extending from said primary carrier for coupling to said second notch
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 44 words
A mount for two Hall sensors as recited in claim 4 wherein: said primary carrier has an opening for receiving said secondary carrier said opening being larger than said secondary carrier so as to permit relative angular movement of said primary and secondary carriers.
