A glycoside having the formula: ##STR38## wherein R 1 is selected from the group consisting of ##STR39## , methoxycarbonyl ethoxycarbonyl, the carboxyl group and the sodium, potassium or calcium salt of the carboxyl group: R 2 is methoxycarbonyl, ethoxycarbonyl, the carboxyl group or the salt of the carboxyl group when R 1 is ##STR40## R 2 is ##STR41## when R 1 is ##STR42## methoxycarbonyl, ethoxycarbonyl, the carboxyl group or the sodium, potassium or calcium salt of the carboxyl group; and R 3 is hydrogen or acetyl.
