Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 91 words
A rumen bolus for the simultaneous delivery of a plurality of mineral supplement to a ruminant animal, the bolus including an insoluble housing having a plurality of openings through which, in use, the intestinal fluids of the animal penetrate into the interior of the housing, and a plurality of water soluble bodies, at least one for each said mineral supplement, contained in said housing and each consisting essentially of a water soluble glass, and wherein each said glass body incorporates the corresponding mineral supplement as an oxide constituent of the glass.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 91 words
A rumen bolus for the simultaneous delivery of a plurality of mineral supplement to a ruminant animal, the bolus including an insoluble housing having a plurality of openings through which, in use, the intestinal fluids of the animal penetrate into the interior of the housing, and a plurality of water soluble bodies, at least one for each said mineral supplement, contained in said housing and each consisting essentially of a water soluble glass, and wherein each said glass body incorporates the corresponding mineral supplement as an oxide constituent of the glass.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the glass bodies are in the form of platelets.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 24 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 2, wherein said platelets are 5 to 10 mm in diameter and 1 to 3 mm in thickness.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 15 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 1, wherein the glass bodies are in tubular form.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 12 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 2, wherein said glass contains copper.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 29 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 3, wherein said glass contains a mineral supplement selected for the group consisting of selenium, iron, cobalt, zinc, iodine, magnesium and mixtures thereof.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 13 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 1, and further including an organic material.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 14 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 7, wherein said organic material comprises an anthelmintic.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 17 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 1, wherein each said water soluble body comprises a glass/polymer composite.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 14 words
A bolus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said housing comprises a plastics mesh.
Claim 12
