Abstract
Abstract This invention relates to a process for dimerizing an alpha olefin to a vinylidene olefin which comprises contacting said alpha olefin with a catalyst comprising (a) cyclo(pentadienyl)zirconium or hafnium metallocene and (b) an aluminoxane wherein the atom ratio of Al to Zr or Hf in the catalyst ranges from about 1 to about 100.
