Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim
70 words
A coherent self-sustaining stick of shirred and compressed flexible tubular casing comprising a pattern of shirred pleats, including a major pleat, wherein the major pleat follows a substantially continuous helical locus and the casing has superimposed on the helical locus of said major pleat a progressive helical twist which is continuous from end to end of said shirred stick and which extends in the same direction as said helical locus.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
34 words
A casing stick according to claim 1 wherein the casing material is selected from the group consisting of regenerated cellulose, a cellulose derivative, amylose, an alginate, collagen, microporous plastic film, polyethylene, and polyvinylidene chloride.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
14 words
A casing stick according to claim 1 wherein the casing material is regenerated cellulose.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
15 words
A casing stick according to claim 2 wherein the casing material is a cellulose derivative.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
40 words
A casing stick according to claim 1 wherein the tubular casing flat width is in the range of from about 20 millimeters to about 33 millimeters, and the tubular casing thickness is from about 1.06 mils to about 1.21 mils.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
61 words
A coherent self-sustaining stick of shirred and compressed flexible tubular casing comprising a pattern of shirred pleats formed along a substantially continuous helical first locus, said pleats being angularly displaced one from another along a continuous second helical locus, said first and second helical loci extending from end to end of said shirred stick in the same direction of helical progression.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
61 words
A coherent self-sustaining stick of shirred and compressed flexible tubular casing comprising a pattern of shirred pleats formed along a substantially continuous helical first locus, said pleats being angularly displaced one from another along a continuous second helical locus, said first and second helical loci extending from end to end of said shirred stick in the same direction of helical progression.
