Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 20
Claim 1
Independent Claim
172 words
A three-dimensional disposable underpant for wearing about a portion of the body, comprising: a disposable liquid pervious inner bodyside liner having opposed marginal side edges, a disposable liquid impervious outer cover having a front portion, a rear portion, a crotch portion and opposed marginal side edges, and being generally superimposed over said liquid pervious inner bodyside liner, an absorbent batt including a front portion, a rear portion, and a crotch portion generally corresponding to said disposable liquid impervious outer cover, and disposed between said liquid pervious inner bodyside liner and said liquid impervious outer cover, said liquid pervious inner bodyside liner and said liquid impervious outer cover having respective portions of their marginal side edges joined together to form a pair of side seams, a waist opening, and a pair of leg openings, and elastic means extending about said openings for providing elasticity thereto, said liquid impervious outer cover including an inner layer of liquid impervious plastic material adjacent said absorbent batt and an outer layer of nonwoven fibrous said inner layer.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
23 words
The underpant of claim 1 wherein the transverse measurement of said crotch portion of said absorbent batt is less than about three inches.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
33 words
The underpant of claim 1 wherein the transverse width of absorbent material in said crotch portion is 1/4 of the sum of the widest transverse measurements of said front and said rear portions.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
37 words
The underpant of claim 1 wherein the thickness of said absorbent batt in said crotch portion is from about 1.5 to about 5 times the thickness of said absorbent batt in said front and said rear portions.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
16 words
The underpant of claim 1 wherein said absorbent batt is outwardly bulging in said crotch portion.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
15 words
The underpant of claim 1 wherein said absorbent batt is attached to said outer cover.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
12 words
The underpant of claim 1 wherein said absorbent batt comprises a superabsorbent.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
18 words
The underpant of claim 7 wherein said superabsorbent is confined to a predetermined region within said absorbent batt.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
23 words
The underpant of claim 7 wherein said superabsorbent is disposed in a layer of said absorbent batt immediately adjacent to said outer cover.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
47 words
The underpant of claim 1 wherein said elastic means about a respective said leg opening comprises at least two elastic members, wherein the tension of said elastic member closest to said absorbent batt is greater than the tension of said elastic member furthest from said absorbent batt.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim
28 words
The underpant of claim 10 wherein the ratio of the tension on said closest elastic member to said furthest elastic member is from about 4:3 to about 3:2.
Claim 13
Dependent Claim
22 words
The underpant of claim 10 wherein the tension on said leg opening elastic means ranges from about 165 to about 220 grams.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim
22 words
The underpant of claim 12 wherein the tension on said leg opening elastic means ranges from about 180 to about 200 grams.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim
24 words
The underpant of claim 1 wherein the tension on said elastic means about said waist opening ranges from about 330 to about 450 grams.
Claim 16
Dependent Claim
22 words
The underpant of claim 14 wherein the tension on said waist opening elastic means ranges from about 360 to about 380 grams.
Claim 17
