Abstract
Abstract A nonaqueous electrolyte for a lithium battery containing an ionizable lithium salt as the solute and a dipolar aprotic organic solvent therefore is improved by incorporating into the electrolyte 1,4-diazabicyclo [2.2.2] octane as an energy density enhancing additive in an amount from about 2% by weight to about 8% by weight.
