Abstract
Abstract A fiber-free refractory coating composition consisting essentially of an aluminosilicate mineral selected from the group consisting of kyanite, andalusite, and sillimanite; alumina; colloidal silica; and water. This mixture is characterized by good adhesion to substrate material, and excellent resistance to thermal shock and chemical attack through a wide range of firing temperatures up to 3000° F.
