Abstract

Abstract Improvements in edge guards for the trailing edges of swinging closures are disclosed. The improvements include modifications to the trailing edges of the swinging closure themselves to accept new and unique edge guards. One improvement relates to the inclusion of a recess in the trailing edge of a swinging closure and/or the edge of an adjacent body panel with the edge guards having a cooperative association with such recesses. The edge guards may be entirely of a non-metallic material or of insulated material.
